Children's Aims

School Aims:

 

1. To enlarge a child's knowledge, experience and imaginative understanding and to develop a child's skills and abilities.

 

2. To foster the child's positive seld-concept, provide opportunity to develop independent reasoning and personal power of choice.

 

3. To enable children to read fluently and accurately, with understanding, feeling and discrimination.

 

4. To develop the child's ability for self-expression using the written word, with a good standard of spelling, sentence construction and simple punctuation.

 

5. To enable the children to listen attentively, with understanding and be able to express views and ideas with growing confidence.

 

6. To enable children to learn how to acquire information from various sources and record information in various ways.

 

7. To develop the child's computational skills and enable the child to understand and apply mathematical ideas in siutaiotns at school, at home and in the locality.

 

8. To develop a child's abilities to observe and investigate.

 

9. To enable children to have an awareness of their immediate environment and to become more aware of National and International events where appropriate.

 

10. To enable children to develop their agility and physical coordination.

 

11. To enable children to express feelings through music, movement, drama and art.

 

12. To develop the child's respect for religious and moral values and tolerance of other races, religions and ways of life.

 

13. To provide equality of opportunity for all children.
